As if the controversial healthcare plan wasn’t absurd enough, on top of our nation’s outrageous federal spending that has everyone worried about their future, now President Obama has crushed the dreams of many of those who work for NASA’s “ambitious back-to-the moon program.”
This program, known as Constellation, is now seeing the end of its days. After the nation has spent more than $9 billion dollars to establish this superior program, President Obama has decided to cut its funds and shut it down. Constellation, originally devised to improve spaceflight and space innovation, has been struck with President Obama’s budget cut. It is said that over the course of the next two years, $2.5 billion dollars will go towards shutting Constellation down.
Senator Richard C. Shelby from Alabama states, “The president’s proposed NASA budget begins the death march for the future of U.S. human spaceflight,” as Republican Pete Olson from Texas goes on to say, “This is a crippling blow to America’s human spaceflight program.”
As I express my unsupported view of President Obama’s decision to intentionally shut down Constellation, I seek support in the several disappointments his administration has stirred up so far. How much more of Obama’s negative, controlling, and socialistic ways can America endure?
Constellation symbolizes an enhancement in our country’s scientific future; now, only to be done away with as many other things under President Obama’s control.
